Well, I'm sure both companies were marketing the whole time in various ways.

It's just that at certain times one company or the other was putting out better tv/movie media products which drew readers to their books. For me that was Marvel with those cartoons.

I guess maybe it would be better called cross promotion or some type of synergistic arrangement.
