Personally I think Franco is just embarrassed to admit that they got the idea of his character from Riff Raff so they looked for a more "legit/serious" rapper who looked similar (Dangeruss) and now claim that he was the inspiration.
I mean even the director of the movie did a photo shoot with Riff Raff last year. He was 100% the inspiration behind Franco's character. Anyone who has seen several of Riff Raff's videos will be able to see the countless similarities between the two. From the clothes, the accent, and even damn near word for word of what he has said in the past, etc..

Oh, of course he can bang college chicks by the truckload wherever he goes. He's a good looking, famous actor. But going to Florida during spring break -- that's a prime field there.

I don't see it quite like that.I don't think he's bothered at all by it. Franco has admitted that Harmony showed him plenty of Riff Raff videos in preparation for the movie. Franco also said that he really didnt have any influence on how Alien would look, that was mostly Harmony.
Their accents are very different, but yea the rest is pretty similar.
