Spartacus was the most violent I can think of.
Vikings and GoT have violence but it's not as prevalent. Might go a whole episode without seeing someone killed.

There are some obvious ones like TWD or GoT, but I think the worst shows about showing violence are Scream Queens on Fox and Scream on MTV.
The outrageous gore and bodies being ripped apart on shows that are pretty much directed at teens and younger audiences is honestly disturbing to me.
That said, the most upsetting scene to me was in The Red Wedding when Rob's pregnant wife was murdered by being stabbed repeatedly in her belly. It honestly freaked me out in a way that still bothers me when I think about it. That wasn't in the book so I was just completely caught off guard and shocked, and not in a good way.
I love the show but wish the show runners wouldn't have killed her in that way. Just not necessary.

For a while there the most violent show on network TV was the Following.

I was coming here to say this. The part that got me was either when Hood cut of The Albino's dick with a straight blade or when Hood killed Chayton by blasting his liver out of his side with 12 gauge. Then while he was still standing and chanting blew his face clean off.

Yep, Banshee, hands down.

The only scene that has ever made me stop watching a tv show was American Horror Story doing the high school shooting. I just couldn't handle it.

Loved that show. Watched it from the beginning. But it did get dark near the end.

Banshee, Spartacus, TWD, AvED, or Got are top of the list.
some runners up are Black Sails, Vikings, Daredevil, and AHS.
the only shows i can do on that list are DD, BS, and GoT. i like Banshee a lot but sometimes it got too graphic for me.
i don't have a stomach for gore i'm sad to say.
