I knew I would like this movie when Magneto went to town in that bar.

That's my point. Even if you hate everything else about the movie; Magneto the nazi hunter was so much better than anything in 3.

The Devils Double wasn't the greatest movie but Dominic Coopers performance was incredible and should get him an Oscar nomination easily

Cause it is directed by Clint Eastwood. All his movies post-Unforgiven are really corny and melodramatic yet they all get several Oscar Nods.

Completely agree about Eastwood's movies!

I have seen more 2011 movies than anyone on this forum. I also am a better critic than anyone on this forum

The only two movies that are worthy of nomination for best film this year are The Tree of Life and Midnight in Paris.

I will soon be retiring from writing reviews.

That is because you watch all the shitty pieces of shite that only teenagers and chicks go see. And what a surprise, your two favorite films don't fit that category!

I watch everything. One needs only to read my reviews thread to see that. Good critics do not only see the movies that look or they think will be good; they go to the movies most people think will be terrible. Bad critics only go to movies they want to see.

You watch anything. Which isn't exactly the same as watching everything, which is impossible to do.

Why do you watch all these films? Why do you come on here to write reviews?

There are others on here that write reviews for a different reason, and get treated much better.

Midnight in Paris

Light-hearted and cute and I enjoyed it to a degree for its fanciful premise but it's more charming than good/great.

As a Woody Allen fan, that Eastwood complaint is more appropriate for Allen's movies the last 20 years.

But true movie fans go out of their way to search for films that actually have substance as opposed to dreg that infects the multiplexes. Life is too short to watch shitty formulaic movies by hack directors. I'm no film critic. I leave that job to people like Roger Ebert who are actually good at it and paid to do it. I'm a film lover.

Moneyball was awesome.

Not Oscar worthy, but Real Steel was a surprisingly good movie.

X Men had some excellent supporting actors.
