Wings is the right answer. And it holds up. I put Wings in the pantheon with Seinfeld. Certainly not the head god, but at least a demi-god worthy of your worship.
The 2 seasons with Alex are just about money as money can be.

Early seasons of Night Court.
Oh, and even more old school: Soap and Taxi.

The Nanny.
1) Funny
2) Drescher was damned easy on the eyes (though, not the ears)
3) Lots of homages to old, classic sitcoms (That Girl, I love Lucy, The Lucy Show, Dick Van Dyke Show [really funny since Anne Guilbert {Yetta} was Millie Helper on DVDS])
4) Cast stayed the same the whole run
5) The supporting characters were solid (esp. Niles, Sylvia and Yetta)

I always thought King of Queens was solid.
I still like Everybody Loves Raymond reruns, though that one was pretty popular...
What are some others?
Better Off Ted only ran for a season or two but was funny as shite.

The nanny? The fricking nanny? The mother fricking nanny?
Holy hell that is one of the worst of all time. God awful tv.

Hence, underappreciated.

quote:Nah. It's correctly regarded as one of the worst shows ever. For it to be "under-appreciated" it would have to be better than that, which it isn't.
Hence, underappreciated.

For me The Nanny is in a category by itself that goes beyond mere artistic shittiness
Listening to her speak is actually physically painful

The John Laroquette Show was sneaky OK. I also liked Head of the Class and Growing Pains.
