For Tuesday: American Movie.

For years I've been hearing about this. This film has been entrenched in No Man's Land in my queue for months (spots 21-30) and it wasn't until recently that it worked its way all the way to the top. I love a good documentary, and this looks like a surefire winner.

In this documentary that won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance, director Chris Smith chronicles aspiring filmmaker Mark Borchardt's battle to finish his horror flick Coven despite a lack of just about everything, including money and common sense. Over the course of three years, Smith follows Borchardt's dogged quest, lending encouragement and cash to a motley crew that includes Borchardt's friends, his Uncle Bill and local theater "talent."

What's in your queue this week?

Very weird but funny as hell at times if you like independent films.

I just put TV series Dead Like Me on my instant queue. Never seen it but it looks interesting enough.

I like Dead Like Me. It's quirky but good.

I watched Book of Eli(I liked it) and Last of the Mohicans(meh...I was expecting more because of Daniel Day Lewis)

And "A Lousy Ten Grand" on instant queue. It was low budget but I actually kinda dug it. It's not a great movie, but it held my attention and was better than you'd think. Surveillance, which was decent for a film by the spawn of David Lynch

This week, I have "A History of Violence" "Bad Luitenant Port of call New Orleans" "Smoken Aces 2" and "The Prisoner(Disc 1 of the tv show)

Just started watching Season 1 of Breaking Bad. Instantly hooked, this show is really well-written and I can't wait to watch the next one. Looks like a must-watch

Godard fans will hate me for saying it but I thought it was better than the original.

Yeah, I have a feeling smoking aces 2 is one of those movies you either love or hate. Thought the first was decent action porn and I like Vinnie Jones

One of my favorites. The scene with the firecrackers popping and "Sister Christian" playing in the background is great filmmaking.

I went into this movie with high expectations after hearing so much about it, and it absolutely delivered. I'm sitting here trying to think of a better documentary than this, and nothing comes to mind. I am buying this on my next trip to Best Buy. American Movie
