I know I'm really late to this, but Christ what a fantastic show.

I am a big fan of the novel, and I felt like the 2009 film was a decent adaptation.

But this series is such a spiritual successor to the original story and never feels untrue to it. Similar to Fargo the series to the original film.

Ah.

I could see that, but didn't think it as woke.

It’s an excellent, original series in an age where little seems to be original anymore and few risks are taken.

The people who think it’s woke missed every point about Alan Moore and the original graphic novel. Nevermind that the woke land of the 2019 series is a total hellscape and doesn’t reflect well on leftist politics. Some white people can be portrayed as racist shitheels and leftist idealism can be portrayed as doomed to fail; they’re not mutually exclusive representations.

I’m anti woke, and I was kind of worried with the first episode where i thought it may be headed. But it turned out great. Loved it

Lol it was so bad. I hate to be the “whah woke show” but the show was very anti-white. The KKK being the villains was so stupid and dr. Manhattan was a joke. Looked like a porno spoof.

That show could not have fricked up the Dr Manhattan story if they tried. They completely undermined everything Alan Moore wrote and developed in Jon.

No dumb arse, because it’s fricking lazy and stupid. What a hack way to cover themes of racism in America by making all the white people members of a secret KKK society. It’s beyond retarded. There are so many routes you can take to make a real statement about racism in America. Instead we get a leftist kink fantasy of a story from Damon Lindelof, a total hack writer that has a terrible track record. It’s funny because there are so many nods and call backs to the book, yet the show not only misses the point of what Alan Moore was trying to say, it shits all over it. What the show did to Dr. Manhattan is a total disgrace!

All of the white people were part of it? Or just the ones you could relate to?

The funny part is the KKK are the ones who knew the truth.

Hey buddy go frick yourself royally. I’m just expressing my opinion why I don’t like this particular show and you’re over alluding that I’m a racist klansman. Agree or disagree with my opinion you need to grow the frick up.

Now back to the topic at hand:

There were so many poorly written characters I couldn’t relate to a single one. Jeremy Irons was great as Veidt though.

Every character was a shitty stereotype.

You are very upset. But if I lived in a trailer park, I would also be upset with the depiction of my people in the show.
