I'll buy that...The "S" on Superman's chest is supposed to stand for hope and Snyder sucked all of the hope out of these films like a Dementor from Harry Potter..

If you don't think the "overgrown boy-scout" doesn't work then I suggest you look at how MCU has done with Captain America...In the first Avengers he even said "their is only one God"...

I'm drifting a bit but Superman is allowed to be a bit "cheesy"..Start of with the clever disguise of Clark Kent to find Metropolis is a city of idiots to be unable to connect the dots of Superman and Clark Kent..

He's a wasted potential.

I liken it to a promising new worker whom gets burned out due to lack of adequate training and mentoring, leaving for more fertile grounds.
