Sylvannis and the forsaken are not evil. They are the Horde counterpart to the humans. Some are good, some are evil. Ultimately Sylvannis wants the Forsaken to survive and prosper. Unfortunately they have no natural means of reproducing so they have to kill in order to increase their numbers. While this would appear to be "evil" by many, if you look at it through the view of the forsaken, they are only guaranteeing their own survival and that is exactly what all the other races are doing as well.

If what I've read about Legion is true, Genn Greymane goes off the reservation as bad as Arthas did.

All this. I really like the lead guy from Vikings. The CGI is spectacular.
Like I said, I had never played WoW, so I didn't really know what to expect story-wise.
But: I was hoping for an action/adventure fantasy that looked good, and it definitely delivered on that part.

Visuals- it was pretty. It had a decent budget, which is really all CGI requires. Hidden inside that is the savings of not having to develop the world from scratch; you already had a strong visual design coming in from the game (the game already did the developmental parts). That meant that most of the CGI budget was for actual filming, and it showed.

Re the live action, casting Fimmel (Ragnar from Vikings) was a no-brainer. He's a perfect fit as a warrior, and he has enough quirkiness to carry even bad dialogue (again, I think Vikings primed him well to jump to the big screen). He's the reason I went ahead and saw this so soon, and honestly, I just wished it would have been a little more brutal so he could show off more.

Just got back from it.

It was alright, but it's not going to bring many new people into the genre. A lot of fan service in the movie, but the story suffers from a lack of development (unless you're a fan you really don't understand the various players in this story) from the beginning.

It's not BVS bad on the pacing, but there were times where I wondered what the hell was going on.

I also thought they miscast the guardian. At no time did I believe he was all powerful.

I'm 24 years old and never played a single game of Warcraft I just know it by the commercials with chuck Norris. mr. t . and ozzy. i'll be going to see this simply because my theatre for some unknown reason doesn't have the conjuring sequel.

Agree. Didn't like the casting for that role at all. Wasn't that Hades from Wrath of the Titans?

I felt like that towards Dominic Cooper as King Llane, I thought Cooper was fine acting wise. But I just didn't see him as a king, thought he was miscasted. But it didn't bother me all that much.

I was completely fine towards Ben Foster as Medivh, I bought him and his character.

I am hearing Medivh stole the show. Is this true?

I liked the character just didn't care for the casting. I'm not a gamer and had no expectations of what he or anyone should look like.

Just got out. Overall I like it a lot. I see why critics hate it though. Movie snobs will hate this movie because it goes all in on the fantasy. This is not the movie for movie purest but for the average movie goer it is an overall fun movie.

The pacing is bad at times but the story was great and I came away loving some of the characters. I played the games but it was some of characters you don't ever see in the games that I liked he most like Lothar and Garona (probably misspelled).

Anduin Lothar (who Varian's son is named after) and Garona Halforcen are major characters in Warcraft 1: Orcs and Humans.

Was able to watch it last night.

The movie would of probably done better critic wise with some sort of epilogue at the beginning or at least a general run down. The ode to the beginning of the warcraft game for the beginning of the movie was awesome but I can see non warcraft fans wondering what was the point in that.

Humans and Orcs generally although a great story, I could see how it may be a little difficult to digest.

I do believe the second movie will do even better though. Especially with the non wow population.

I generally loved the movie and I would give it a 3.5/5

I thought he was pretty wimpy as the King...but I think he was playing the role as written.

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie.

Acting was decent and best and bad at worst. There was some cringe worthy dialogue.

The Guardian was definitely miscast. I really like Ben Foster, but he just didn't feel right at all.

That shot of Durotan at the beginning of the movie was absolutely stunning CGI work.

I did expect the movie to bomb in the U.S. which is a damn shame.

If Ruth Negga (Ethiopian actress) is Varian's mother, than Dwayne Johnson has to play the adult version of Varian.
