He made his own luck... He was a force of nature, designed to exterminate, almost like a much more personable, human, and in denial Anton Chigurgh.
It's extremely hard to argue with that statement, although I am conflicted giving in and saying it's better than Once Upon a Time in the West, Good, Bad, and Ugly, Josie Wales, Rio Bravo (my personal favorite), The Searchers, or the likes.
Eastwood himself though admitted in 2013 it was the best western and film he was ever a part of.
Without a doubt, I think it's the best Western combo of writing, directing, and acting. There's also something so timeless about the movie, it's like the Godfather in that way, it just doesn't age.
When you watch it, you know you've just seen a masterpiece.
