Transformers 3 was the showcase for that.

Tuturro $$$
McDormand $$$
Malkovich $$$

How was I a dick...it's a terrible movie, this is TD.com. And if you're going to come at me, give it the old college try. That whole swallows bit was really lame. It's not like I'm alone in my opinion, it holds a 37% rating on RT.

I like how people say, it is what it is. You know it is possible
to make a good "popcorn flick" that is also a good movie. You say you'd like to see it drawn out more when the biggest problem is that it's drawn out too much...

Can I get OML in here?

my GF, who is not a big movie person at all can recognize the biggest problem with this movie, so I would hope someone that posts on a movie board could too

You're taking that out of context btw.

I already explained I liked the idea of the Decepticons taking over cities and taking power and the Autobots/humans having to build up a rebellion to fight back.

That's what I'd like to see drawn out over 2 movies.

But that's not the point.

The point is, yes you were a dick and it wasn't called for. You can come and here and shite on the movie if you want but you don't have to be a douchebag about it.

See this is the biggest problem

Chicago destroyed, millions murdered, humanity enslaved....awesome

Optimus shows up says "we'll kill em all"...awesome

Then drawn out building scene, airsuit shite, Shia on a yoyo, which would've been cooler if he stabbed him jumped down and starscream exploded, and finally

Optimus shows up and is incapacitated within a minute...

There is some good stuff and potentially good stuff in this movie. If you could take a final print and just cut ALOT of fat, you could have a pretty good flick...a guilty pleasure, but bay/speilberg either pander to the masses or are arrogant enough to think those scenes were too good to be left in

The almost famous lady...the worst case of over acting ever

I agree with all of this.

I actually forgot that I got aggravated that Optimus got whipped to the side so quickly.

The last hour just got me thinking about a Terminator type future except with Decepticons in charge. The whole movie would've been built around that idea. I guess I'm venturing into fanfiction territory more than anything.

Have yet to see it so I can't pass judgement on the film yet, but I do agree with you that there is a difference between popcorn flicks, mindless flicks, and stupid flicks. For example:

Popcorn: Bond
Mindless: 300
Stupid: Transformers 2

This was a frustrating film and I'm a really easy customer...

The worst part is where they show the new hottie just standing there amidst the destruction with her hair blowing in the wind like a carls jr commercial with her mouth open...just really bad.

OML, this one was savable but I'm convinced they did ZERO editing

This is another thing I agree with.

I guess the difference between us here is I just let a lot of that stuff just roll off. I expect that type of stuff so I don't get so upset when I see it.

When I say I'm expecting mindless, action, popcorn flick the bar is set low. I just want to sit, chill and enjoy not having a 2 and 5 yr old climbing on me while I'm watching it.

It doesn't have to be that way. Independence day was a good popcorn flick, but a decent film as well

Wow you and I could discuss this for awhile then because I can trash that movie all day long.

Can we at least agree that The Wild Wild West was a big piece of shite?

Yeah. They show a little panty arse in the beginning but he'll be fine.

I belive you. I'd probably agree with a lot of it too but most of it probably just doesn't mean much to me.

Will Smith turned down the Matrix for that, and yes what a huge turd, a meaty chud with pieces of corn hanging onto it.

MIB, another decent popcorn flick, but I was 12 when it came out so I could be remembering this one with the mind of a kid

Something else I want to add. It was kind of weird how Megatron was all emo in this movie. He would just sit quietly to himself while other shite was going on.

SPOILERS AHEAD

Also, something else I'm not getting-why did Optimus kill Megatron anyway? Didn't Megatron save his life?

Seems a little ungrateful.
