Nicolas Winding Refn series. Stars Miles Teller and John Hawkes. I have no idea if this is gonna be good but the trailer looks cool as hell.

been looking forward to this, but it has a high probability of being a turd.
I like Refns stuff, i even loved Only God Forgives, but I admit a whole series worth of Refn might be too much.

fricking in. I was just thinking about this the other day, and wondering when it was supposed to come out.

Started it this weekend, and made it through about 3 episodes. I’m still not sure what I make of it.
Like Refn’s other work, the series is more focused on the visual. Story is secondary almost. And there are incredible images.
The pacing of the series is so incredibly slow that I wouldn’t blame anyone giving up on it immediately. For whatever reason it kind of works for me. Pot helps. It feels like a dream. I could see it putting people to sleep. Cliff Martinez score is excellent as well. My main criticism is that Refn lingers too long in most scenes.
Curious to hear what others think, if any of you have watched it?

Just finished episode 5, and it was fricked up and excellent.
I feel like if you can make it through the first two episodes the show starts to pick up a bit. Episodes 4 & 5 in particular I really enjoyed.
Also, these episodes are really long. Like 1hr15 to 1.5hrs long.

Good to know. Just finished second episode, but I'm enjoying it already. Strange, hallucinogenic series, & when the violence kicks in, whoa. Looking forward to the remaining episodes. But you're spot on, it's sloooooow (not that there's anything wrong with it)
