Today I Learned that Upham Didn't Shoot the Guy who Killed Mellish

The guy who Upham shoots, "Steamboat Willie" is a regular Wehrmacht soldier.
The guy who kills Mellish is a Waffen-SS soldier.
I always thought they were the same guy, and that's why Upham shot him. For killing Mellish.

He kills Steamboat Willie because SW killed Capt Miller.

quote:no, he kills Willie because he lobbied to let him go earlier when everyone else wanted to kill him
He kills Steamboat Willie because SW killed Capt Miller.
then when finds him back with the Wermacht, shooting at his company, he snaps and blows him away

That plays into it. Ultimately, it was Miller’s decision to let SW go. So, when Upham sees SW heartlessly kill the man who saved him, he snaps and does what they should’ve done when they first met him.
