However, his show has been on a downward trend for a decade. Below 2 million easily.

35+ million views on YouTube in that 3 day span
This means nothing to Disney/ABC.

Kimmel's youtube popularity is one of the key reasons Disney keeps hiring him to host their live TV events and game shows...
It's why his late night show still exists.

K. Whatever you say. I'm sure the advertisers paying for the show just love this.

Yes, and that is not good for Disney/ABC. That is turning a revenue into an expense.

You say that sucks for the TV advertisers.
I tell you why it doesn't suck for the TV advertisers.
You go back to your argument before the YouTube comment.
You're arguing in a loop.

Saying he lost these viewers is disingenuous at best.
Just the opposite side of the coin saying the huge first day meant something.
It was a well publicized story that there was a pop culture curiosity about for a minute.

It's opportunity cost, but yes, either way, it comes out in the bottom line.

No, my response to you saying they're giving away free ads for Jimmy Kimmel's underperformance is that's not good for Disney/ABC, not advertisers. It is clearly not good for Disney if they are having to give away ad space for free. You should try to actually understand the words you're reading before you reapond.

Exactly. They're missing out on potential revenue by having to give away ad time.
