Well, I enjoyed. I did miss the beginning FWIW. I only saw once she got to the statue to review.

You know, we see people say all the time there isn’t anything original out there, but when original stuff is released, no one wants to give it a chance and if they do, they resist it.

This movie isn’t perfect. There are plenty of reasons one couldn’t like it. But going in cold and afterwards reading some reviews and I’m just miffed.

I saw one review (marked on Rotten Tomatoes) as Rotten that was to paraphrase “movie is too much like an 80s movie. 2.5 starts.” Jeez

This movie is filled with science mumbo jumbo, religious mumbo jumbo, and Italian style mumbo jumbo that has indeed rareley been seen on screen since the 70s and 80s. And you know what. It’s fun. There are plenty of times where you wonder WTF and that is a good thing.

The lady villain is just ate a buffet of scenery and we never get villains like that any more. The rest of the acting is passable.

The movie genereally looks amazing. Very moody. It is very dark and at times way too dark and I fully understand those complaints. But still, the atmosphere is on point for this sort of movie.

There are a couple of odd attempts at humor. It’s like they wanted to lighten the mood it then only realized after they filmed the movie they had the least funny actor of all time. No big deal.

There are also a couple of shots of babies in the womb that are also annoying.

I don’t know, I feel like I’m taking crazy pills. I did think it was a fun ride for the most part. Definitely flawed but man, I hate the idea that we are just ignoring new movies because they are unconventional
