Before I watched it, I mistakenly referred to as "Downtown" Abbey once, and my usually quiet mother (a fan) quickly and emphatically told me that it was Downton.
I resisted it because I generally don't care for fluffy period pieces with costumes, but I checked out the first episode when it hit Netflix just because it got so much buzz, and we got hooked for the rest of the way.
