The WE network does a Monk marathon every Sunday, I never miss it. Hallmark Movies & Mysteries just started a Psych Sunday marathon too. Now you can switch back and forth if you've seen an episode recently. That's how I spent my entire day yesterday, didn't even leave the house for food. Just ate peanut butter out the jar for breakfast lunch and dinner.

Both are also on Prime if you want to marathon whenever you want too.

I feel like that's cheating.

Monk is so awesome...but obviously the lesser-appreciated of those two shows.

I'm partial to Monk myself, but I like the episodes with Sharona better than Natalie. Sharona was a good foil to Monk because she was a stripper with a sordid past and she didn't put up with any bullshite, but Natalie is pretty bland.

There was a funny episode I was watching the other day though, Natalie wanted Monk to give her daughter the birds and the bees talk. Monk motioned to the land lord in the room and said "Why doesn't he do it?" Natalie asked why and Monk said "Kids respect land lords."

I consider a marathon different from a binge. With a binge you're in control, in a marathon you're at the whim of the network. It's a different dynamic.

I don't have cable largely because of this very dynamic.

I like the marathon format sometimes, it gives me less accountability. With a marathon the show just keeps playing, with a binge I have to sit there and make a conscious decision if I want to watch a tenth hour of Monk.

It's just too damn easy.

TV kept you somewhat honest.

The next Psych movie has to include Monk. A reference at the end of the series finale wasn’t enough. Also, hopefully Lassie is doing better and can be a bigger part.

Secondly....Team Natalie
