Not many movies are worth making the effort to go see now, especially in the post-COVID era. 95% of the films on theater listings are trash.

I think I’ve come to finally realize that the era of movies and actors I grew up with and came to appreciate is long gone. The older generations of actors had to actually prove they could act and needed a resume to back it up. A lot of them went to acting schools like Julliard and NYU to study the art of acting. They actually fricking tried to be good at it. Now almost all of them are retired or are dying off.

This current generation of Gen Z actors and actresses can’t act to save their fricking lives. Most of them overperform and try way too hard. These people are the future of the film industry, and that’s what’s scary. And to top it off, traditional film companies and distributors are being bought out by big fish like Disney. Eventually, traditional film companies such as Paramount and Universal will be no more. Big tech giants such as Amazon, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok will have their own production studios. These are the companies that will dominate the film industry.

I don’t go to the movies because the creativity in Hollywood is dog shite and I’m just not interested in seeing very many movies these days

Doesn’t really have anything to do with the theaters, which aren’t all that bad. The ones by my house have reclining seats, which are very comfortable and the theater itself is always immaculately clean.
