Can't Elijah go out in the daylight? B/c if he and Klaus can...why do they want to break the curse so bad?

Maybe I'm missing something here.

As much as I'm not a fan of John's, I liked how he told Jenna that she gives the kids too much freedom. I mean, Elena's supposed to be what 17, 18 tops and she's running around fricking a vampire.

Elijah wants to break the curse so he can kill Klaus. Apparently Klaus has been forcing generations of witches to help him break the curse without the doppelganger. Klaus has Luka's sister and Elijah’s promised to return Luka’s sister to them after the sacrifice, in exchange for their help. Because then Klaus will be weak and vulnerable, and they can kill him. I can't remember why Elijah wants Klaus dead.

that's funny

Fun fact about Jenna is the actress who pays her is only 23! I would never have guessed that

I know Elijah can go out in the daylight, so I would assume Klaus can too. If Elijah can bend witches to his will, then Klaus, who is more powerful than Elijah, could have a baller daylight ring, so the breaking of the curse must be about more than just being a day-walker, since he must already be capable of that. So, yes, Elijah has the agenda of killing Klaus, but what is Klaus' agenda? Still a mystery...

And I hear ya on Uncle/Father John--he may be a giant douche, but he's a giant douche with a point. I was yelling at the TV, "Why are you drinking wine?!" while Elena was sitting on the couch at the cabin watching Stefan make dinner. I'm so sure her 17 year old palette was appreciating the subtle berry notes of the cabernet she was sampling before dinner...

Crazy episode! I think it was a bad idea to kill Elijah. But Katherine is free and that's always entertaining.

Not cool of the warlock to take Bonnie's powers! Now that Elijah is dead it might time for the warlocks to die too.

Alaric should have kicked uncle John's arse. I can't stand him.

Ric is a badazz vampire killah!

That epi had some humor... Damon about to kill an original, then Elena just happens to mention an *very* important detail... *oh noz!* quickie cell phone call saves the day! All is well with a vamp corpse moldering away in the cellar until yet another Elena-revealed detail--you have to *leave* the dagger in? *oh noz!* Another cell phone call... too late! Heh.

Uncle John=Douche

And honestly, at this point, with an Elena evil twin vampire prancing about town who has been invited into her home, with a vampire boyfriend, a vampire mother, a vampire hating yet allying father/uncle, original vampires masquerading as hisorian authors, a witch best friend about to start dating baby bro, and the whole, "What happend to your WIFE, Ric?" thing now clouding the air, dontcha think it's just freaking time they sit Jenna down and bring her up to speed on the situation?

I just don't understand why she didn't finish reading the whole damn thing in the first place. Who only half reads directions before operating new machinery? men. is she a man? no. c'mon Elena...wise up.

Uncle John is annoying. I hope they do something good w/ him and don't just have him around being a douche.

yeah, with Uncle John being such an incredible douche, the douche quotient of the show is waaaay too high to be tolerabe--there is the douchiness of the adult male witch, the semi-douchiness of the witchy son, the douche-like-nature of the name-less werewolves (should they reappear), and the uber-douche-nicity of Uncle John. Thank goodness for Damon. He has just enough coolness to level it all out.

Aww shite! Isabel is back! I'm gonna love to see Alaric explain her to Jenna. I'm so glad the warlocks are gone. I feel a little bad for Luka(even though his death was pretty cool) but I'm so glad Dr Martin is gone. Though him going crazy in the bar was kinda cool.

I like having Katherine around for Damon to play with.

WTF?!?! No new episodes until April 7th?!? There is one episode left according to wikipedia, so they are gonna make us wait over a month for the season finale? Booooooo!!

yeah, the wait until Apr 7 sucks but to see Alaric deck Uncle John, it just *might* be worth it.

The show returns April 7, but there are at least 6 episodes left. The finale is in May:)

With Isabel being back, I bet they are going to tell Jenna. They were talking about it last night, and Caroline told Matt...well, mainly b/c she had to.

I thought it was awesome w/ Damon kicked Katherine out of bed.

I'm fine w/ the warlocks being gone. I wasn't really a fan of theirs anyways. So what is up w/ Bonnie? Will she tell everyone that she got her powers back? She kinda seemed like she only wanted Jeremy to know.

Im wondering if Dr Martin gave her his powers. She said he gave her the plan to get rid of Klaus

Ian Somerhalfer tweeted this earlier:

"Is American Idol the death of The Vampire Diaries? Well, viewership apparently says so... Our #'s are SO down:( if U guys like TVD u may Lose it if we don't tune in:("

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Vampire Diaries is sooo good. Maybe people are DVR'ing TVD and watching AI live? Does DVR recording factor into Nielson ratings?

I would flip shite if they cancelled.

I would too. The Vampire Diaries is supposed to be The CWs highest rated show so I don't think they'll cancel it before next season but if the ratings stay low it might be gone some time next season. I just can't believe that many people stopped watching and switched to idol.

Vampire Diaries is one of the few series NOT on HBO that I watch religiously. If they cancel, that would totally suck. Damon is one of the best characters on TV today. Him kicking Kat out of bed was *awesome*

Also not too sad to see the dead man-witches but was kinda sad to see Luka go in such a grusome way, since he wasn't all bad, more of a pawn really. And I think he could have been convinced to help out the "good" guys. I wonder if Tyler will come back when the show gets back from hiatus? Might be good for Caroline to have a love interest who accepts her for what she is if Matt can't...

I was surprised Caroline didn't compel Matt when he started freaking out. It looked like he was gonna hit her for a second.

I don't think Tyler will come back so soon but when he does I'll be curious to see if he is cool with vampires or not.
