Just realizing for the first time that the lieutenant and his wife are played by Bruce Dern and Wendy Schall respectively.
Dern has looked like an old man for thirty years now and is hilarious in this movie.
You might know Wendy Schall as the voice of Francine on American Dad.
Highly recommend this movie if you somehow haven't seen it- an all time comedy classic in my book.

This movie is twice as funny if you live in a sub-division. Had some family come down to help with my sister's house after the flood. There were several vehicles at my house one night and we watched this. In the middle of the movie my buddy from down the street called and asked if we were having a party. The movie is spot on. Lol

I was in my early teens when that movie came out and had such a crush on Wendy Schall in that movie. I probably wore out my dick and the VHS tape pausing on her working in the garden.

Just a solid comedy. Really doesn't get much better.

I still crack up after the house explodes when Tom Hanks goes nuts on Art and says "I've been blown up, take me to the hospital!"

I like when he collapses onto the stretcher after blowing the house up and then when no one will approach him he jumps off it and dramatically throws it into the back of the ambulance and resumes lying face down.
