quote:

In Season Two, Ed (MacFarlane) and Kelly's (Adrianne Palicki) relationship will take a new turn, while the ship’s crew will meet never-before-seen aliens, face old adversaries the Krill, make first contact with a new civilization and revisit the planet Moclus.”

quote:

“The bar is continuously being raise for science fictions shows,” MacFarlane says. “We really try to step it up in the best possible way for the viewer.

“The fun thing about doing a show like this is that the basis of your series is pretty much whatever you can find throughout the galaxy. And what it allows us to do is tell all different types of stories and to really treat each episode like its own little movie. Some weeks, what you’re watching is an adventure story. Some weeks, what you’re watching is a romantic comedy. It really just depends on what the story calls for.

“People will see a pretty big step up in the scope of the show this season. We have some very, very big episodes that are very future-esque.”

2nd

Is it still the most Star-Trek show on TV? I couldn't finish Discovery.

Discovery got more Star Trek as it went along. I couldn’t finish Orville.

I hope it did because the first3 episodes are cringe.

Orville is one of the better shows on TV. I'm was completely shocked by it.

According to the Internet, both can't be good. You have to pick one or the other.

LOL no.

JJ Abrams flash battles all the time isn't Trek. We hardly needed another prequel to further ruin established canon like Spock and Sarek.

It's funny. Star Trek was one of, if not the first show, to have amazing diversity without hitting the audience upside the head with SJW-ness. Discovery destroyed all that.

Star Trek Discovery has many problems, not the least of which is being sued (and it looks very bad for cbs) and likely will lose the case.

Are you serious? It's utterly perfect for someone who knows Star Trek lore and has a sense of humor about it.

I never brought myself to make the effort to watch Discovery once I saw what they did to the Klingons.

Orville isn't true sci-fi but loaded with Sci-fi elements.

The Expanse is pure Sci-fi and it's awesome.

It’s entertaining and I have it on my DVR, but I haven’t gotten around to watching the rest of the season. I see the attraction but the constant use of previous Star Trek plots lessened the experience for me. I’ll continue to record but I have other series to watch. If it gets to Netflix I’ll move it up the list.

Roddenberry wasn’t subtle about it. The first televised interracial kiss was full screen and lengthy. He had ABRAHAM LINCOLN show up to have a conversation on future race relations with a black female Starfleet officer. They lectured alien races about political and social issues that paralleled those of the day.

Since the other Star Trek series have had black and female lead characters and interracial and interspecies marriages, I’m guessing that you mean that having a gay couple is CBS “hitting us upside the head with SJW-ness.”

There’s not much left that the previous series haven’t hit on. Next Generation already touched on one sex identifying as another. Having gay characters was the last box left unchecked.

That shouldn’t have been too surprising seeing that Seth hired a bunch of writers and crew members that worked on “Next Generation”
