Is it really a big deal for the big part of a movie to happen approximately half way through the thing?

Avengers- Romanov "interrogates" Loki 1 hr 4 min

Avengers: Age of Ultron- 1 hr 4 min , Ultron is getting the regeneration cradle.

Source Code- Coulter Stevens finds out Derek Frost is the terrorist. Frost shoots him at 1 hr 12 seconds.

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory- Augustus Gloop is sucked out of the chocolate river, the first child to be eliminated.

Aladdin- Aladdin and Jasmine kiss after "A Whole New World" scene. Also, Aladdin is thrown to the bottom of the ocean and Jasmine is arranged to marry Jafar. All within about a minute and a half on either side of the hour mark.

Mrs. Doubtfire- Montage of Mrs. Doubtfire bonding with the children.

Good post, was gonna come talk about this but you covered it well. In my first screenwriting class we were introduced to this and I had never heard of it before. It all clicked once your read it and thought about all the movies you watched and how they follow this "journey".
