This was my wife and I’s 1st real show we binged together/ seasons 1-3, just before season 4 premiered. I thought it was pretty good from the jump. In fact, I remember not wanting to like it, and it ended up being one of my favorite “drama” type series, and it holds up reasonably well… lol we just re-watched it with my daughter about this time last year, and now it’s one of her favorites as well. But please believe we have made a shite ton of quotes and making fun of a few legendary OC moments, as part of our daily lives. I suspect that’s why my little girl liked it so much, cuz half the quotes she’d been hearing her whole life, suddenly made a lot of sense, I guess.

This was Josh Schwartz first series. He went on to create Chuck and Gossip Girl. He has said that he wishes he had paced season 1 better as he was just throwing everything he had out there. Ideally some of the season 1 plots would've happened in later seasons or not at all.

A few months ago I went to see Manchester Orchestra at the House of Blues and Petey opened for them (he's a comedian/singer with a large TikTok presence for those that don't know who he is). His song Don't Tell the Boys has a verse about binging The OC. It includes spoilers so I won't give it away even though this is a 20 year old show but I'll post the YouTube link for anyone interested.
