I recently started watching the show because a thread on here suggesting it as a potential GOAT show. So far so good.

In episode 1.6 Nora's boss chides her for always getting the answer yes for question 121. "Do you think your departed has gone to a better place"

Are we to take from this that Nora was guiding them to answer yes or that she was answering yes for them regardless of their answer?

I don't fully remember the specifics but I thought Nora couldn't bear to put no as the answer.

Can’t remember. Reddit has a good sub reddit for the leftovers episode by episode with comments

Dammit, all you guys bringing up the Leftovers again is going to make me have a rewatch.

BTW if you’re dialed in now and haven’t bailed, the best is yet to come.

I’ve not seen anyone on either thread provide the reminder that the source material for the show is an OUTSTANDING book.

I definitely recommend that everyone read it.

I always took it as a supernatural way of whoever is in charge telling Nora that her family IS in a better place.

I thought she would. I like her a lot. She was also good in the Fargo series, if I remember correctly.
