The Disaster Artist Reaction Thread

So, I saw this movie on Thursday. I thought it was great but flawed. I’ve read the Disaster Artist which may skewer my opinion knowing everything that happened. James is great as Tommy and left me in stitches. While he (obviously) has great chemistry with his brother, I don’t like how Dave and the story whitewash Greg. He has no reason to help out Tommy with his project, and agrees to it far more easily than he did in real life. Plus Greg is cynical as frick IRL, which he doesn’t come across at all in the movie. Seth Rogan is also perfectly cast as the script supervisor.
And while I’m sure that this movie will have some of the best “Behind the Scenes” ever to be put on a DVD, I think they should have gone with a different director besides Franco. Really someone not at all influenced by Judd Apatow, to where this movie follows his formula to a literal fault.
As I said, I really did love it, but it’s no Ed Wood. There are a few tweaks that could have been made to make it a masterpiece.

You don't understand anything, man. Leave your stupid comments in your pocket!

I didn't get why they changed how Greg got the role of Mark. The way he got it in the book would have been hilarious on screen.

I’m willing to bet it’s because of what Tommy would agree to. That and him storming down Hollywood Boulevard at 90 MPH should have been included.
