Elizabeth and Missy straight up used the whole situation to their gameplay gain. Dan was absolutely skeevy but what they did wasn’t much better to take advantage of it.

Yeah, that’s not what happened at all.
It did happen. She expressed horror to the producer in her tear laden interview. Then, campaigned to get Missy out. Not Dan. At least that's how the timeline was edited in prime time.

Correct. Then Janet got wind of the Dan situation and started campaigning to take him out. Kellee heard this and switched to Dan instead of Missy. Then it became Dan vs. Kellee and we all saw how it turned out.

maybe seed them by season number then pair 1 & 16, 2 & 15 and so on?

I'd love to see a good old school yard pick.
Maybe go with the two oldest winners, or two most recent winners, or just two oldest contestants, whatever. Or just separate Rob and Amber and let them pick teams.
They did picks like that in older seasons and it was always good fun.

I know this is an epic bump, but I only just saw the finale of this season for the first time last night!
What a weird fricking season:
--the entire Dan thing was inscrutable. As of last year, sounds like his career has completely collapsed after other accusations against him (including "bullying")
--the whole "durag" thing was insufferable. Poor 20 year old Jack - "thank you for ALLOWING me to apologize". GTFO
--Jamal works at some kind of fancy al-girls boarding school I think. I shudder at how woke that must have become...even from the starting point we saw in the show PRE-covid
--Loved Elaine, but wanted to point out the obvious double standard. When she asked one time to hug Jeff, she "snuck in" a kiss too. Reverse the sexes and 100% that turns into a "no consent" situation. Just highlighted how stupid the Dan stuff was despite the fact that I do think he was a creep
--Elizabeth and Jack did not attend the finale - they were an item and are now married. Gemini says she was likely advised by her media team to "go dark" so as not to jeopardize her Olympics broadcasting career, and Jack didn't appear out of solidarity. Supposedly, their wedding press literally did not mention meeting on Survivor
--Missy and Elizabeth, IMO, were true villains. They absolutely 100% sold out Janet in a moment where Janet clearly decided to pause the game. Missy claimed in front of several people that her breasts had been groped. I think they got lit up on social media after airing, and they deserved it all. I was annoyed Jeff didn't go after Missy at the reunion show
--lame that the reunion show was not live
--I actually enjoyed the Rob and Sandra bits for what they were. The idea mostly fell flat, but it was fun seeing the sheer joy and surprise when people walked up on the beach and saw them every time
--Dean - what a fricking weirdo
--Noura - I ended up sort of pulling for her in the end, if only because she was obviously 100% authentic
--curious what Karishma's husband thought after seeing her bitching about wanting more than her arranged marriage. Man, I'll be she's toxic and dangerous in real life. You can see the first second she got any power, she was immediately virtually evil
--even with unwanted touching, I still think they act like the Dan stuff is too severe. I'd rather see him called out and voted out than kicked off. I also don't think it should be against the rules to put your arm on someone when they're sleeping. However, they SHOULD suffer tribal consequences for it if the tribe so assesses
In a weird way, it ended up being a noteworthy season, if not actually enjoyable.
