Wife and I re-watched season 1 a few years ago, and it was honestly pretty boring. Not surprising as they were kind of flying by the seat of their pants, both production and the contestants.
I kind of wish they'd stop with the hidden immunity idols, or at least place them somewhere in the reward/immunity challenges to add some risk to obtaining them.

A throwback season with no immunity idols or hidden advantages could be fun.
I also enjoyed the seasons where the merge was really late and there weren't early mix-ups. Like Palau where there was no merge at all and one tribe just won until the other one was down to just Stephenie. It made for a real fun second half of the season because everyone (but one) was from the same tribe and they had to cannibalize themselves right off the bat.

I always thought it'd be cool to have two tribes at the same camp the entire game. No merge really, but switch to individual immunity at the merge point of the game. Split them in two and throw them into the same camp all season. It could add some interesting dynamics.

This sort of happened in the One World season. It started as men vs. women, and although it was two camps they were immediately next to each other so everyone mingled.

Just started watching this season. Angelina says she’s a vegetarian but looks like a plus size model. How does that work?

If I remember correctly, Kelly won a reward challenge and she and Probst went to a local bar/restaurant and watched an episode of Survivor and Jeff told her that it was a huge hit. The episodes aired only weeks after being filmed.
There was a very active online community where people would take hints from the show to predict evictions. For example, someone would post a screenshot from the opening credits of 6 people walking to tribal and they’d break it down to who each fuzzy person was by how they were dressed. Those would be the final 6. CBS got tired of the spoilers and put red herrings out to mislead people. That whole aspect of the game is gone now.

They watched the Intro
The season didn't air until over a month after filming ended.
It was pretty boring compared to today's seasons, because it was so much more simple.
