Weird episode. I feel like I say this about every new season but it always seems like they find "strong" women and the most gay effeminate males on the show. Super tired of having some dude cry or breakdown after 3 days on an island where all you do is sleep and play in the ocean.

That was kind of an amazing episode. The editing as the red idol guy was hanging himself was outstanding, the diary sessions as the yellow tribe was babysitting the nuclear fallout situation from last week were hilarious, and TK crash and burning while classically thinking he was the puppet master were all priceless
And Gabe completely nerding his way out of the idol he worked so hard for for no reason makes this seem like it will be an all time messy arse season

Sierra is an absolute smokeshow.
Joseph is going to go far if people don’t realize how big of a threat he is. The way he worked his entire tribe tonight after he had to save face and let everyone in on his idol was great. The way he’s built a connection with Andy too has him protected from all angles.
Rome is already starting to get on people’s nerves, the same way I thought TK started to rub some of his tribe mates the wrong way.
Gabe is already playing to win too. That was a pretty great play to switch on TK, and blindside him. Although they may be hurting in the next challenge. Kyle seems like a genuine dude, and I’m thinking he’s going to be pretty ticked off at his tribe for the blindside.
Tonight was a really good episode. At least they are playing the game, and taking big swings and shots already. The casting will never be the same again, but the gameplay is still there.
And oh yeah, again Sierra is a smokeshow.

TK all physical, zero social game. The fact that he thought he was running things was really funny. I figured he'd be tough to beat in individual comps but, we'll never know.

Agreed on all your points.
I had the wrong read on TK, him and Rome are annoying AF. Would almost rather have baby Andy on my tribe than either of them. Good riddance for TK.
I also don’t get the constant trope that older players are useless. Don’t these players watch the show? Older players seem to go far, especially recently. Again: physical strength is overrated. Tiya made the right call flipping.

Good episode. Andy might literally be retarded. Actually now that I look at him closely he looks like he might be touched by the syndrome.

I feel like they messed up the TK vote too. I feel like it's so early you need to keep the tribe strong rather than trying to make a "blindside". No one remembers a blindside that happened at the second vote.

They don't play like that anymore. If you have 3 strong in a group you take big threats out early so during the merge you don't have to deal with a super athletic guy

Yea, I get that. I guess to me it just feels like the last couple of seasons a tribe has done this they've lost every challenge and the tribe has dwindled quickly

I think survivor has done itself a disservice with a puzzle attached to every challenge. It's not visually fun to watch a team try and get a puzzle because it's not really engaging. That also plays a role into getting super athletic people out early because pre-merge there are a shite load of puzzle challenges that you don't need athletic people for.

Hasn’t really mattered. I think 2 of the past 3 winners have come from the “loser” tribes. It’s all about making allies early and keeping strong post-merge.
Glad Sol survived. He’s had almost 0 screen time, but he’s interesting to me. Seems like a good player though I can’t tell socially where he stands and the fact everyone except Aysha was willing to cut him loose means he’s a threat, sucks socially, or both. That said, I hope he shuts Rome up. If Lavo ends up at tribal again, they could easily lull Rome into a blindside.
Tuku need to get rid of Sue. Her entire take on Kyle was stupid and misandrist.
Andy is sort of getting the Emily (45) edit. Totally lost in the beginning, gets taken under someone’s wing, will probably make the merge and then self destruct.

I think Sol looking for the idol is probably what leads to the confrontation between he and Rome they showed in the preview. Rome had mentioned to someone that he would be up at midnight looking for it.
Sol knew Rome was lying 1000%. I think he still put a vote on Rome to make sure Rome knows where he stands with him and also to save face with the rest of the tribe. If Sol gets in good with Teeny, Kishan, and Genevieve…they can let Rome use his steal vote on Sol and the blindside Rome.
Genevieve is an outlier though. Some people on Reddit are speculating she either quits or gets med-evac’d because she’s had 3 confessionals so far and is the only player with a private instagram. They’ve shown us nothing about her.

i find it funny that rome has taken ownership of the fishing gear and everyone else is scared to touch it..then goes out and catches minnows and acts like he's feeding a village.

The edit sort of makes me think he's a big player down the road. He also read Rome like a book.
