Trilogy? They can't even make 1 good movie much less a trilogy.

Yeah, I'll believe it when I see it. They have been trying to get a new Star Wars film off the ground since 2019 and every single idea is either still in the development stage or has died in the development stage.

The Mandalorian film is in post-production. That one is coming out. I agree on everything else. Most will never see the light of day.

From Jeff Sneider

quote:

I suspect it’s because I’m hearing that Daisy Ridley will come back for these new Star Wars movies, and her Rey “will be positioned as the Obi-Wan of the new trilogy.”

What that means for Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s movie is unclear. Many Star Wars skeptics assume the project dead, but it’s my understanding that Lucasfilm recently hired a new writer to replace Steven Knight — I just haven’t been able to ascertain their identity yet.

Would Lucasfilm have paid a new writer if it had no plans to make Obaid-Chinoy’s movie, knowing full well by now that Kinberg would be writing a new trilogy? You’d think not, but honestly, who knows? There are a lot of big, fragile egos in play here.

Obaid-Chinoy’s movie is rumored to find Ridley’s Rey training a new generation of Jedi warriors, and if my source is accurate then it sounds like she’d serve a similar function in Kinberg’s trilogy — Alec Guinness’ Obi-Wan served as a mentor to Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker before guiding him as a force ghost… I think — which makes me wonder if Obaid-Chinoy’s movie will ultimately come to fruition.

The optics certainly wouldn’t be good if Lucasfilm pulled the plug on Obaid-Chinoy’s project at this point, but you also have to wonder how many movies we need with Ridley’s Rey — an older version of whom is also rumored to be part of Shawn Levy’s vision for his Star Wars movie.

Why do I have a bad feeling about this?

Kinberg will write the trio, and produce them with Lucasfilm chief Kathleen Kennedy

Oh yeah. That’s why.

just don’t want a continuation of the Skwalker saga. Imagine Luke getting 3 real movies but getting 6 with Rey.

This.

Whatever they end up doing will most likely be trash anyway, but no one gives a frick about Rey and they took a huge shite on the Skywalker legacy, so that’s a dead story.

Great news. I will watch all these films at least 5 times in the theatre. There is no amount of leftist propaganda or poor writing that will prevent me from enjoying these films. Certainly nobody on this message board could possibly derail my enthusiasm for this IP and new projects.

Your shtick hasn’t been funny from the beginning. You don’t even get many replies anymore.

Also, I get that Tigerdroppings is one of the easiest places on the internet to troll because of its echo chamber quality. But why, I guess?

I am not trolling anyone. There is such a contrived effort to shite on this IP across the internet that someone needs to be positive about it. Thats gonna be me here.

Also the anti Star Wars edgelords on the board need to be exposed and ridiculed for their incredibly nerdy and insane behavior. I enjoy doing that.

Some of the posts in this thread are pretty funny though. Like adult men posting things like "they shite on the skywaller legacy" or "cant wait to not see them". There is no truly gayer activity than trying to post hot take, edgy Star Wars criticisms on the internet. Its truly pathetic at this point.

sits alongside Star Wars percolating projects with James Mangold, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, Taika Waititi, and Donald Glover.

It's hard not to burst out laughing at this lineup. An absolute clown show of choices that demonstrate clearly there is a deliberate attempt to saturate star wars with complete utter social justice and LGBTQ horse shite.

I don't know why they bother.
