I read the one line snippets on RT, that was a positive review

I took it as a positive comparison not ripping it off. it caught my attention because I thought "did this guy see TFA?"

like you said, it was forced. terrible line, terrible delivery.

anticlimactic is a good thing. try to compete with "I am your father" in a movie that's essentially a remake and drawing on familiarity with the original trilogy...some people already thought it was too much fan service, that would've solidified it

Have a couple of friends overseas who have seen the film. If you are a Star Wars purist prepare to be pissed. Apparently Rian figured out a way to make characters more unlikable than Jar Jar.

I don't think it was supposed to be a massive reveal, but if it was going to be that, I could see people bitching bc "OMG THEY COPIED THE ESB REVEAL!"

I don’t know what a purist is? I’m not a nerd about Star Wars. I don’t treat it like Star Trek so long as it’s good and it makes sense. I’m not into canon...as far as I’m concerned the prequels didn’t happen so if anything doesn’t jive with what happened in those movies, I won’t care

Doesn't that just say it all about the prequels

Nothing to do with the prequels I'm just not sure how to elaborate without spoiling the film. Prequels seem much better, even the midichlorians, compared to what Rian Johnson just rolled out.

even cool sets and practical effects wouldn't save those movies, but yeah...fricking George.

I can't tell if George found the presumptive cost objectionable or if he thought they'd look cleaner and more neato if they used a computer.

All you have to see is the scene where Padme falls out of a transport next to a CGI yoda, talks to a CGI Clonetrooper with a CGI background.

Why not just have a real life fricking Trooper come talk to her? Why not film in it an actual desert? It looked like shite and was shite.

That scene sums up the entire prequels

Yeah, definitely leaning troll...or his overseas friends are idiots

I have watched a lot of youtube spoiler free reviews, i am expecting some stuff i wont like, some stuff i really like..one review, i cant remember which one, said the last 45 minutes are perhaps the best 45 minutes in any Star Wars movie..idk about all that but im intrigued. In all that i have seen or read, no one has said anything close to making me think this movie will be a piece of shite and be worse than the prequels.

because that costs more money and George lucas cares more about being under budget than making a good movie. the cgi shite was so awful, but in the end characters we didn't hate that had some personality would've made a bigger difference

i'm not disagreeing either...the cgi was over the top and every single thing about the movie sucked...the title was "attack of the good guys"

I'm not trolling and they aren't full of shite/idiots. The film itself may be "well made." The cinematography, sets, locations, vfx and acting are all said to be very well done. The character development, sans one character, is shite as is the story itself. You may love it, and to each their own, but to me it took a shite on certain things about Star Wars I really liked.

Mark Hamill warned the fans of this with his comments about Luke, that is all.

be careful, he has "about to spoil shite" written all over him. he's building up to it...abort, abort.
