No thread?

It's a very good movie. Lives up to the hype. The All the President's Men comparisons are apt. Worthy of a Best Picture nom and possibly a couple of Best Supporting Actor noms (Ruffalo, Keaton, McAdams, Schreiber were all solid).

Solid movie all around, but I want to single out the closing image as one of the most effective I've ever seen. For something so simple, it really hit hard and was extraordinarily effective at reinforcing the movie's primary message. I went through the entire movie being impressed, but I left the theater absolutely taken aback. The closing image was that effective. Terrific movie experience.

I'm looking forward to seeing it. Might even have to check it out in a theater.

Great investigative reporting movie. But what you see is what you get. The two hours are spent on uncovering the Catholic Church child sex abuse scandal in Boston, MA and surrounding areas. This leaves little time for any real character development aside from their investment in the story. Given the ensemble of actors, I would have really liked to see a little more about the characters' personal stories. This would've made for a 3hr movie, though.

Not me. As you say, that would've made for a 3-hour movie and IMO would've taken away from the story.

Amazing film.

I was watching the final scene closely, wondering at which point they would cut to credits.

Very impressive.
