A sadistic mastermind unleashes a twisted form of justice in SPIRAL, the terrifying new chapter from the book of SAW. Working in the shadow of an esteemed police veteran (Samuel L. Jackson), brash Detective Ezekiel “Zeke” Banks (Chris Rock) and his rookie partner (Max Minghella) take charge of a grisly investigation into murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city’s gruesome past. Unwittingly entrapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the center of the killer’s morbid game.

Only watched bits from the other Saw films. Watched and enjoyed the 1st one.

Did the franchise decline/climb?

It never should have been a franchise to begin with. But when a movie makes money at the box office, there has to be a sequel. Those are the rules.

Agreed. They’d be wise to make this more a ‘Se7en’ than a ‘Saw’ film.

If they go back to the feel of the original Saw, then it can be good.

The original ‘Saw’ was much closer to ‘Se7en’ than it was to its sequels.

new saw movie

My body is ready
Evidently this movie was Chris Rocks idea. Looks like it could be good. One of the shots they've released shows rock standing in front of a bulletin board with some photos of stuff from saw II. So they'll definitely be tying it in to the old ones

Yes yes, saw and hostel bad, slasher movies bad. What we really need are more conjuring spinoffs and a paranormal activity reboot.

I'll take torture and slasher flicks over ghost movies any day
