Without getting too deep, I think the paradox only really matters if you view time as linear
I know this was probably stated earlier but I can't remember what I had for lunch

A linear perspective of time is the only way to view time based on our current reality. But departure from what we understand as reality largely defines science fiction. So basically any enjoyment of science fiction pretty much requires you to park your reality check at the door. But questioning the consistency of a story/plot within it's own defined context is certainly valid and in this regard Interstellar falls short in some respects.

It was and I addressed it. Page 2 about 2/3 down. Rex posited the same thing and I responded. I also mentioned something about it in the first post I made.

the story was pretty much perfect for the exploration part, the fact that rex doesn't understand it is really more of an affirmation.
