I see folks make this similar comment, but I don't know folks were expecting, after having seen the hallow men crawl up the cliff a couple of times already.
Was it the CGI? They did seem to resemble a cross between the Army of the Dead from LOTR and the Protomolecule from The Expanse. Or maybe it was the magical secret facility McGuffin with fully functioning early 2000's tech, a ready to use nuke. Or was it the plot armor?

Follow up: Watched & liked Dungeons and Dragons: HAT. Not great, but some above decent subplots and well written. Entertaining, if nothing else.
Like you said, it's entertaining. That's the purpose of these movies.

Maybe because I had seen Amazon's Legend of Vox Mechina, which I did enjoy, when the trailers came out, I was like "why?". I just saw that on TV.
