just got back

SUCKED

3 different people were snoring, seriously

one of my group walked out and went to catch chasing mavericks(she was high, so it could have been for the visuals)

just a crap movie..the story made absolutely no sense. You can't even try to spoil the movie because nothing would make sense even if I tried to piece the convoluted story for you.

By far the worse Bond movie I have ever seen.....yep worse than that gasoline cocaine crap from the 90's, or that Media Magnet garbage from 5-10 years ago.

stay away, seriously, it was that bad.

I will just say that I will be shocked if the guy who made The Review & Critique of the Phantom Mance doesn't do one for this garbage.

Did George Lucas write and direct this one?

Spoilers

why was he in turkey, they knew the 500 chamber auto-pistol "assassin"(not typical weapon choice)...would be stealing list? Or was he stealing the HD from anther group of people who stole the list already from MI6? Why was Bond there? Why was he with a black chick who he doesn't seem to know her name? Why can't she take the shot while driving and the dude is just standing on the train? If Bond can hear the shot order, why doesn't he drop to give clear LOS?...etc,etc,etc...endless,endless,endless...How good was MI6? I mean an agent can all of a sudden become the world's best computer hacker.....who is expendable apparently compared to some random agents the old lady seems to care for.....but she doesn't care enough about Bond so that she wouldn't give the shot order....she seems to waiver a lot.....what a fricking waste of Time...so pissed we didn't go to Looper instead.

Just saw this movie

It is NOT A GOOD MOVIE. Not worth spending your money in at a theatre.ro

The movie lacks substance in a major way and has numerous loose unexplained ends. The 'hype' is sickening, we really need more objective reviews out there. What a waste of time. Do yourselves a favor, wait till it hits DVD.

My Bond days go back to when the Fleming books were still best-sellers and Dr. No was a current movie. I loved this one. Daniel Craig makes a really good Bond; I think he and Sean C. are the two best Bonds we've ever had. Totally enjoyed it.

I think after reading all your "why" questions, three or four things are clear:
1. You don't really know the Bond legend. Maybe you're young enough to not have been with him all 50 years.
2. You didn't understand this was a sort of "prequel" to how Bond got to be who he was (origin of Moneypenny) when we picked it up in Dr. No.
3. You don't understand they had to do take some liberties with times and situations in order to get the Bond stories out of the Cold War era and bring things more into the present time setting (computer hacking, references to Iran, etc.).
4. You probably should have gone to Looper instead.

It was a great Bond movie; one of the best ever for pure entertainment value alone. Who cares if they borrowed some stuff from Bourne or others. What movie doesn't re-use formulas from other movies? I mean think about it - how many Bond formulas have been re-packaged in other movies, including (but not limited to) other Bond movies?

SPOilERS

Why would I pay money to go see it if I wanted to hate it?

I love Casino Royale(except the overdone poker scene)..I had no issues going to see this one.

starts with chase scene, loved the motorbikes...not the issue, it was the story behind WHY and HOW Bond was chasing this dude that made no sense.

The building scene, who the frick did the dude hit? and why are all the body guards just standing around after and not firing back? If they were part of the hit, then why didn't the guy just go into that building and kill him there? WTF was the point of killing 5-6 guards, and then cutting holes in glass, then sniping someone you could have just walked up to without issue?

This part really bothered me. If all those people are in on the assassination, why wouldn't they just have Patrice go in and kill him? No, he just killed 2 random security guards which may increase exposure

Sounds like some people showed up to the movie not reading the name "bond" in the title and failing to realize anything about the nature of these movies and how exceptional this one was

Sounds like some is trying to defend the 'Bond' name instead of the actual movie. Makes sense though, the movie itself can not be defended.

This movie was a very good Bond movie. I think Bardem's performance is a little overhyped, but I really liked the movie. Much better than QoS and probably the best since GoldenEye

I liked it alright but I have never been a big Bond fan, was just looking to kill a couple of hours.

saw the preview for the next Die Hard, definitely want to see that

Dude I was raised on Bond and have seen every one dozens of times.

This one was beyond awful, almost worse than QOS.

I sat there waiting for the good part to come and it never did.

I was feeling very good about it going in, but It was almost a complete miss in my opinion.

It was slow developing, boring, and like has been pointed out, several scenes didn't even make sense.

This is about the same way I felt. I wouldn't call it awful, just very very average

I mean there wasn't even really a bond girl, which is kind of a main component to bond movies...My other beef was the whole trying to slap you in the face with the theme that "old can be better than new". You shouldn't have to dangle a theme in front of the audience every 5 seconds to get your point across.

That was so annoying.

The fine arse girl that gets whacked by Silva served NO PURPOSE but as a vehicle to get Bond to Silva. Terrible

I think that set the tone for the movie. That was just stupid and annoying...why even have the scene when he's talking to her about her being a sex slave and implying anything more than just a lay. I honestly hate the whole modern cinema technique where someone you think will be a main character just gets killed for the "ohh" factor.

It's like we didn't even really care that she died because we only saw her for like 2 scenes, yet they were emotional scenes. It was so odd.
