I'm rewatching it now, and I find him to be 2 dimensional at best. I'm also struck by how absurd that female character is that's harassing David. The overall writing quality is so high - it's weird to me that Ball went that over the top.

I disagree. Nicoli is the best character on the show for my dollar. He was only season 1 and 2 unfortunately.

I'll also say this - I used to think Lauren Ambrose was almost ugly. But she looks way better to me this time around.

My favorite minor character is Bettina. I love Cathy Bates, and that was a great role for her.
