Word to the wise - check out ahashare.com. It's private so you'll be a little bit more secure than KAT.

Just watched it.
Thanks for the recommendation. I've been to Cape Town in the early 90's and it was cool to see they so took to this guy.
What an interesting story. His music is on Amazon too for MP3 downloads. "Cause" is a great song.
Really enjoyed the film.
(Wish his daughters would have watched his money from the SA concerts and help him get a better home though...jeez, wood burning stove. But he comes across as beyond down to earth in his interviews...even sleeping on the couch in his swank hotel room so as not to mess up the bed.)

He doesn't want the money and just gives it all away.

His music is phenomenal. Just goes to show how much musical talent is really out there. He sounds just as good as Dylan IMO

This thread got me curious to see if he's playing shows in the states and sure enough he's playing Tipitina's in May...but it's sold out already. Dammit.

Rogan said on his podcast that he heard the live show is fantastic. I would love to go.

I just watched this with Mrs. Pimp and we both were a bit
.
A few thoughts:
It really is about the journey.
What a Zen-like peace and humility envelopes that guy.
His best work was being a tremendous FATHER and example for others.
God Bless South Africa.
Truth is stranger than fiction.
It couldn't happen to a better guy.
How beautiful that there is a family & grandson now in SA.
His buddies back in Detroit were great guys, very entertaining.
It reminds us how the internet and technology have made information immediate and changed the world; this kind of thing is literally impossible now.
What a great, great documentary !
