If you have a chance to see the man, be sure to go.

I'd say half of his show was just improv based on what the crowd said or what he felt like talking about, and it was better than 99% of any comedians' thought-out written material.

He poked fun of his quitting the show, had a ton of material on Paula Deen already and that was really some of his funniest stuff.

So, Movie Board, you are officially advised: Chappelle still has it and is well worth the price of admission ($70 in Atlanta).

On tour right now. Did 9 shows from Thursday to tomorrow in Atlanta and is heading to NC/TN or somewhere like that next.

I think he rarely tours, which is why I made sure to pay the hefty price and go while he is touring.

His ending was awesome. Ended with a joke about pussy, brought the mic stand to the middle of the stage and goes "Well....that's it. That's the end. It's been awhile since I've toured, so I'm still not sure how to close out this show." Then he talked for another 10 minutes all improv.

I'd say half of his show was just improv

i doubt this.

i would say he has his jokes and the way he tells them might be different every time and it comes off as being improv but i dont think he is just getting up there and winging it.

i thought the same thing youre thinking years ago when i saw robin williams(1st comedian i ever saw) do a standup show. i left going wow how did he just kind do that shite on the fly and then the next year a special came out on tv and it was filled with plenty of the same jokes. they were just told a little different

I think you're wrong. If you ever watch the bonus materials on Season 2 of his show you'll see a whole lot of improv he used to do while filming. Guy can just wing it.

Either he is doing improv or he does it well enough to make you think it is. The guy really puts on a good show. Needs to come to NOLA.

I saw him at the Ryman in Nashville. Great show. I would definitely see him on this tour again if I get the chance.

Chapelle is known for being able to get on stage and make jokes about literally anything. One night at the comedy bone in LA he did like 3.5 hours based on audience suggestion. You can't plan for that entirely.

I am going to see this show at the Woodlands on August 24. Can't wait! Not sure if I am more excited to see Dave Chappelle or Flight of the Conchords.

I was so bummed that show wasn't coming to FL I think Iwould prefer to see FOTC over any actual musical act out there right now.

I've heard that Chappelle and Chris Rock are teaming up for a comedy tour around October.

Apparently they discussed it on stage at the Comedy Cellar or whatever it's called.
