Sword Art Online might have the best English dubs of any newer series. Baccano is another good one.
Wait, I have the answer, Afro Samurai. Fantastic animation, adult action content, and is dubbed by an all star cast including Samuel L. Jackson. I would also say, in some ways it bridges the gap between anime and western adult cartoons. But leans towards anime.
They recently announced the cast for Hunter X Hunter dubbed, and sounds like it will be really well done. Just won't come out for awhile.

If you go with the English DBZ you miss alot of great scenes. For example Freiza torturing krillin for a while before he kills him is a gut wrenching scene and makes Goku's transformation that much more awesome.
Also, half of the death scenes on Namek aren't even shown
That said, I agree with you the English voices in DBZ are fantastic. Especially Vegeta, Krillin, Goku, Cell, and Piccolo.
If you watch DragonBall dubbed, it's basically a different show lol

I had the original dubbed DBZ uncut VHS|DVD's were those also altered from the Japanese versions? Or are you talking about what was aired on TV?

I'm talking about the years if my life I spent rushing home in a panic when I couldn't remember whether or not I set my VCR to record Tunami because Internet streaming didn't exist, neither did amazon, and trying to catch a rerun was miserable.

Yeah Toonami showed the edited versions. You had to specifically go to suncoast and buy the unedited sagas.
