Watched the first season and enjoyed it. Never got around to the second season because I heard it went woke. I'm seeing a lot of people in this thread saying how much they liked it. Was that information not correct?

I gave zero thought to it be woke while watching it and never would have had it not been for TD. But apparently most of the stuff people were complaining about being woke was actual source material. So people just bitching just for the sake of bitching.
There's no way I wouldn't have given it a shot but if it was a show that you liked and you didn't watch it just because some other people said it was woke, then you probably will find something to get upset about.

I'll try and find the post of one of the guys dislike for it because of wokeness (which im not a fan of btw). But it was basic stuff like "well they turned that person into a lesbo." In reality, it's bisexual and in the source material she's bi.
I just think if you're going into it looking for reasons to say its woke, you'll probably find it to be woke and not like it. If you just go in expecting it to be a good show just like season one, you'll probably like it. Because it doesn't drop in quality.

Love the show, but kinda wish Season 2 would've left off with a better cliff hanger for Season 3.

It was during that weird time in the Trump presidency where White Nationalists/supremacists were en vogue as the enemy/bad guy in everything for a little bit.
I’m right wing AF and I hate White Supremacy. It’s of course, evil. I’m fine with them as bad guys, but it was blatant at that point that the media and Hollywood spent a lot of time trying to say the right leaning people in the country were all WS and then making them bad guys in a lot of TV at the time. Stormfront as a Nazi was a bit too on the nose. But you also have to realize that was after White Supremacists were the bad guys in Watchmen, Lovecraft County, Hunters, the Good Fight, Shadow of the Moon, etc.
It was all a big Kafka trap.
Media and Hollywood: White supremacy is evil
99% of Everybody: Absolutely!!!
M&H: we must call out and demonize White Supremacy!
99%: Absolutely
M&H: Trump and anybody who supports him is a white supremacist!!’
The right: Wait. WTF. No.
The left: Absolutely!!!!
That’s where I think the “woke” complaints came in.

Except that Stormfront is a Nazi in the comic that was written in 2006-2008 or so, so that argument was always dumb as hell. The only thing that was changed about Stormfront's background/personality is that they changed the character from a male to a female, which actually made it less woke.
