Official Thread for the smartest show on television.
Last week, Bill defended Donald Sterling's privacy and called out the "Gay Mafia", ignoring boos and catcalls from his left-leaning audience. Grandes huevos from our intrepid host.
Tonight's Guests
The Interview:
Dr. Robert Lustig is Professor of Pediatric Endocrinology at UC San Francisco, President of the Institute for Responsible Nutrition, and author of Fat Chance: Beating the Odds Against Sugar, Processed Food, Obesity and Disease. He lends his expertise to the new documentary, Fed Up – “the film the food industry doesn’t want you to see.”
Twitters: @responsiblefood @RobertLustigMD
The Panel:
Ian Bremmer is the president of the Eurasia Group and a global research professor at New York University. His most recent book is Every Nation for Itself: Winners and Losers in a G-Zero World. He recently wrote an op-ed in The Straits Times on the fragile economics of South Africa, India, Indonesia, Turkey and Brazil.

Kellyanne Conway is the President and CEO of The Polling Company, as well as the editor and publisher of WomanTrends Online. Conway recently appeared on PBS’ To The Contrary to discuss men’s role in ending sexual assault, as well as gender equity and child slavery both domestic and abroad.

Governor Brian Schweitzer is the chairman of the Stillwater Mining Company and an MSNBC contributor. He served two terms as the Governor of Montana, from 2005 to 2013.

Kevin Nealon joins the panel mid-show to talk about his new movie, Blended, with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, opening May 23rd. His stand-up tour continues May 24th at the Fallsview Casino in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

The best episode was when Gavin Newsom was on. He fricking schooled everyone.

I can't figure out if Newsom is really that smart or if he was just lucky coming from San Francisco and therefore basically being forced to be forward thinking on gay rights and marijuana.
I mean if Obama had been from anything other than the most liberal district in Illinois would he really have opposed the Iraq war? He's pretty damn hawkish since he was sworn in.
Also if you look at Europe, we're always about 15 to 20 years behind them... it seems like a smart politician could just be progressive on whatever issues Europe is being progressive on today and therefore look like a genius in 15 years when the trend shifts that way in America

Favorite part so far: the reference to the "John McCain invasion map", a graphic which shows the countries that John McCain has publicly called for the US to intervene militarily in.
Somehow this kook is called a "patriot", yet he A) nominated a sportscaster/quitter/ BBC whore with a sub-90 IQ to be his Vice President, B) supported Iraq/Afghanistan which estimates show will cost us upwards of $4 TRILLION dollars by the time we're fully withdrawn and all VA bills are paid (projecting 60 years into the future here) and C) wanted to invade ALL OF THESE OTHER COUNTRIES which would put us (at least) another $8 TRILLION in debt.
