Okay, I really don't know how to review this one!
The challenge this week featured a return from season four semi-finalist Chris March (in drag!). The designers were then introduced to 11 drag queens and given a brief bio on each one. Contestants then picked a drag queen to work with a design an outfit for their persona.
The winning design:
I absolutely loved this outfit! So cute! And check out the nice placement of the belt and the cute earrings! It also fit "her" body to perfection. Very well made!
Losing design:
I actually loved the cascading train of this dress, but this is the second challenge where Daniel completely missed the mark. After he was rude to the judges (including RuPaul) on the runway, it was obvious that he'd be the one sent home. It just wasn't exuberant enough for a drag queen...
My least favorite:
This was just awful. The judges didn't like it because it mimicked a few items that he's done before. RuPaul, unfamiliar with his other work, actually liked the outfit. Sad, but true!
This was my second favorite:
I absolutely love this dress, as did the drag queen! It was so beautiful and the duchesse satin skirt is even detachable! The proportions of this dress also fit her size beautifully.
For some reason, the judges really loved this one, but it just scared me!

I liked it best and thought it was far and away the coolest one.
I agree about the worst one though. "A sad, grey, molting chicken" indeed.

I agree with the winning design though, it sucked the least. The one that lost I think was second best.

It's not a bad dress. And the cascading skirt is cute, but it's just not dramatic enough for a drag queen. That's where it missed the challenge...

While I agree with you that simple does = beautiful... this was a challenge for drag queens! The designers had to create a performance dress that fit the drag queen's persona and there is nothing simple about a drag queen. They are crazy and over the top!
