Pitched these before. Every decade needs a great underwater/submarine movie. Here’s a couple true stories;
The Howard Hughes Glomar Explorer.
The secret 1974 effort by the United States Central Intelligence Agency's Special Activities Division to recover the Soviet submarine K-129.
It has it all, including the mission “failing”.
Project Azorian
See and Raise; Here’s the m’fer that saved the world in the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Vice Commander Vasili Arkhipov
We know him as Hans Solo saving K-19, which he did. On this boat all THREE commanders had to agree on deploying nuclear tipped torpedoes. He was the one dissenting vote. In the hottest of moments, while they were being depth charged to hell.

Band of Brothers set during the Civil War.

On Social Distance with Mark Wahlberg.
Make it another Daddy’ Home movie with the cast from the sequel.
It’d be funny to see the difference between how Ferrell/lithkow and Wahlberg/Gibson deal with the crisis.
Then they get stuck in the same house, etc.

This. And start it early at West Point, the war with Mexico, through the civil war.
All sorts of potential storylines to follow and develop where a lot of the generals trained together, fought together, then fought each other.
