but I'm always skeptical of that.

Me too, however Nicole needs to realize that now that she knows about the detonators she is still the last man standing if she doesn't work with the others. Nicole removing Frankie and Christine is essentially writing her own death certificate.

Derrick and Cody have been masters at avoiding targets even though people know they are in alliances.

Sorry about that. I was remembering the Coup de Tat as being a special power to come back in the game once evicted.

Was it the ability to trump any veto?

HOH Noms are in:

Nicole - Frankie/Caleb
Christine - Donny/Zach

Caleb still seems to be planning to throw it.

The Coup d'Etat (pronounced koo-day-tah) is a power given to a houseguest. Its first appearance in Big Brother was as a prize in Big Brother All Stars. The power appeared once again in Big Brother 11; the holder of the power was chosen by America. The holder of the Coup d'Etat has the power to overthrow the Head of Household's nominations. They are also able to name their own replacement nominees. However, they may not choose the current HOH or POV Holder.

It shares similarities to the Diamond Power of Veto. However, the holder can remove two nominees and replace them with two other House Guests (minus the HOH and POV Holder), as opposed to the Diamond Power of Veto, which can only remove one nominee and replace them with another HouseGuest.

It's called the Coup d'Jeff because:

quote:

Shortly after Casey Turner's eviction, it was announced to the house that America would be selecting one houseguest to receive a special power. Jeff Schroeder was chosen by America to receive the power. He was given two weeks to use the power if he chose to and at the end of the two weeks it would expire. During the first week Jeff chose not to use the Coup d'Etat power. The following week Jeff used the power to overthrow Chima Simone's nominations (Russell Kairouz & Lydia Tavera). As Chima was the HOH and Kevin Campbell was the POV Holder, they were immune from being nominated. Jeff nominated Natalie Martinez and Jessie Godderz for eviction. Neither Jeff nor Chima were allowed to vote and as a result Jessie was evicted by a vote of 3-2. Due to the Coup d'Etat power being used, all of the houseguests were able to compete to win the next HOH competition.

Chima, Jessie and Natalie were going to own that game. When Jeff got the power, he basically was able to flip the house and put his side back on top.

I haven't been following, but what is his intent with throwing it?

Keep Nicole in power. Plan 1 vote out Frankie. If Frankie wins veto, backdoor Christine.

My one concern would be Donny/Derrick seeing the dollar signs if Caleb is up there at eviction and voting him out for TA. I hope that doesn't happen but could definitely see it (especially if he's up there next to Christine since Frankie, Derrick, Donny would only need one more vote to get Caleb out and get $5k).

I hated Chima and her crew, but she got royally screwed with that "twist." I actually thought her meltdown - while petulant - was completely warranted considering the situation. The ultimate example of production manipulation on the game.

Oh indeed. She got screwed totally.

But, a Nicole HOH this week coupled with a Donny Coup d'Jeff next week and a Hayden revive a hamster might make me watch again.

Are the Detonators in on this? Or will this turn out like last week? Because if those nominations stay the same, I have no reason to believe that Caleb will not be voted out. I guess thats the reason I asked his intent for throwing it.

I agree, she got robbed, but come on, Jeff was by far the most liked player to ever play the game! The dude has it all, and was/still is the most down to earth guy is seems. I was all for production stepping in then.

However, I will probably not feel the same if one of the players gets back in this time.

I think so (outside of Christine who is persona non grata with the rest of the house). But yeah, who knows by next Thursday.

This is what I don't get. It's not that hard to figure out that Derrick and Cody backstabbed Nicole (and Hayden). Derrick told Nicole that he didn't vote to evict Zach because Victoria wasn't going to vote, but it wouldn't have mattered since it still would've been 4-4 with Nicole being the deciding vote. She needs to wake up and see Derrick and Cody for what they really are or she will be out. And the same goes for the rest of the house.

Why Nicole & Zach haven't aligned with Donny knowing that the rest of the house is sketchy is beyond me. It's not like Donny is some floater that doesn't win comps. The house guests are morons (with the exception of Derrick).

The Diamond Power of Veto has always been a secret so the other players don't know about it, thus, they don't have the extra incentive to fight as hard as they should. Also, not knowing about the power means the stupid alliances keep uses weak pawns to pick off other players.

I come home for the evening and turn this on. Frankie is definitely throwing a Hail Mary for his game. Interesting strategy considering he just won BOB.

And he's also constantly invoking his grandfather as an excuse. I hope these house guests aren't so easily duped and put his arse out next week if the opportunity presents itself.

Interested to see how BOB worked where Frankie won even if Caleb did drop out immediately.
