The square on the other side (left) of the pool is not the house. When the HG's exit into the back yard, the pool is directly in front of them. So the house is part of the larger building, Studio 18, as you can see an S18 on the roof.

I do not think that it takes up all of Studio 18. You have to think too when the HG's exit the game, there is a big area for the audience and what not. But yes, the house is big.

Listening to the HG talk, it seems like they go out and recruit people. They want a certain type (gay, black, rocker, jock, prep, etc.) and go find them on the streets.

I thought there is an application and they actually watch all 2 minutes of your video you send in.

Oh, I think they look for a certain type and fill those spots they want. I just think they pull from the videos people send it. After those you meet them at a convention thing where they weed more and more people out.
Finally, they fly you out to LA and then weed it out some more and picking the HG's.
The 1st convention thing I think is on your own dime.
Don't know if it's the same way now, but it used to be something along those lines.

Yeah, I'm not cut up by any means though. If you're not the older guy, you have to have a great body to be on for the most part. Ian is an exception but he's the nerd.
I don't like hippies so maybe they would throw one of those in there.

Hate to break it to you but the majority of the new players were recruited, Frank and Ian are the only ones that appear to have applied. It used to be you could pick one or two that were recruited but starting with last season most of the cast was approached to be on the show without applying.

I thought that was the case. And look at the two that were chosen, nerd and a former wrestlers son. Now, if you are lucky enough to be related to someone famous or they have not filled one of their stereotypes, you may be in luck!
