quote:

The scene in Unforgiven, when Will is waiting outside of the town with the kid, and the lady comes to meet them and starts telling them about what happend and he just grabs the bottle from the kid and starts drinking...you can just see the evil in his eyes as he knows what he is about to do.

That's what makes this movie so fricking unbelievable The first time I saw it, I just didn't quite get it, but knew there was something to it. The second time, though, it dawned on me: alcohol enabled him to do what had to be done, it enabled the necessary evil of the world to do justice against those who were trying to do justice for mankind. It's a philosophical paradox stripped to its bare bones and portrayed in the old West, a place where the bare bones of humanity show through best. Amazing

I wouldn't necessarily call it an obscure moment, but I enjoy the part in Kramer vs. Kramer where Ted (Dustin Hoffman) scrambles to find a new job just before Christmas.

John Lithgow's line "Laugh while you can Monkey Boy" in Buckaroo Banzai. Not a great movie but it has some moments.
