Your assertion can be disproved pretty easily as the general consensus of new shows save the Acolyte was optimism. The shows themselves caused their own downfall. Boba Fett and Obi Wan were both given fair shakes and they both were terrible. Mando was liked even though it was lighter on substance until the third season. The acolyte is the one that would fit your premise and it was also not very good despite the member berries they shoehorned in to try and satiate original fans.
