Caught the first episode last night. I know this is obvious, but the senselessness of these murders never ceases to amaze me.

I was pleasantly surprised that NOPD actually solved these crimes. I'm a big true crime fan (genre not the show), so if you're into dateline type stuff I would recommend.

To be fair, the victim was an innocent 15 year old. Which speaks to how fricking senseless the whole thing is.

It’s infuriating. They have no regard for life.

i didnt watch the whole episode, so maybe new information about the victim came up later, but...what makes him innocent? he was present at a fight that led to the shooting. is it reasonable to believe that he was just there being an upstanding citizen? or is it more likely that he was part of a huge brawl like we see videos of posted constantly?

i agree entirely that it is all fricking senseless, but i am extremely skeptical of how innocent he was, unless something was shown later in the episode.

He wasn't present at any fight. His sister, who is 16, got into an argument with some individual she didn't even know. She called her brother (the victim) and asked him to meet her and walk her home. They have video evidence of all of this from cameras around the city.

The shooter literally stalked these two boys after they walked his sister home and shot at them from some bushes ambush style.

The shooter was some 21 year old thug that was friends with whoever the sister argued with. Maybe I'm different, but this 15 year old wasn't some gang banger and didn't do anything to justify his death. Maybe my definition of innocence is skewed

Thanks for the rec. I had not seen this before. The disregard for life in NO, and many of these other cities, is disturbing. I’m glad they do catch some of these murderers, but it’s such an uphill battle for these detectives.
