Yeah, I bought the first 4 back when he first came out, unfortunately I paid full price. First couple are very derivative of better authors but not terrible, but they quickly devolved into being horrible. I can;t even imagine how bad the later books are, as I've heard they are way worse than the books I stopped with.

Kingkiller Chronicles. Only the first two of 3 are out but they are thick ~1000 pgs each and its an amazing story.
100% recommend.
