Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones' Oberyn Martell) has been set to star opposite Wagner Moura on Netflix‘s drama series Narcos. Written by Chris Brancato and directed by Jose Padilha, Narcos is the true-life story of the growth and spread of cocaine drug cartels across the globe and attendant efforts of law enforcement to meet them head on in brutal, bloody conflict. It centers on notorious Colombian cocaine kingpin Pablo Escobar (Moura) and Javier Pena (Pascal), a Mexican DEA agent sent to Colombia on a U.S. mission to capture and ultimately kill him. Produced by Gaumont and executive produced by Padilha and Eric Newman, Narcos will premiere on Netflix in 2015.

Looking forward.

I remember hearing about this right about the time he was getting his break on GoTs. Super excited for this

Although I hate when they don't give a specific release date and only say "in 2015"....that's such a tease

It's said that it will premiere on Netflix in early 2015 with a 10-episode series

Hopefully early is in the first quarter.

Sounds good. Wish the focus was more on the spread and dominance of the cartels in Mexico though. The Colombian/Escobar cocaine wars are pretty well documented in film. Either way, it sounds interesting and I'm sure I will watch.

Finally.

They green lighted this during Pedro's run on Game of Thrones last year. Been waiting for it ever since.

Interest will probably be higher because of all this stuff going on with El Chapo right now too. Seeing that trailer makes me want to learn everything there is to learn about the Medellin cartel ha.

There are some interesting stories and documentaries with Escobar in his political issues and his love of soccer and laundering his money through it.

They took their soccer serious too, if guy fricked up he got killed and maybe his family.

And just adding I'm glad they will be releasing all episodes at once. I had heard possibly different, which would have been aggravating.
